Introduction:
One of UNIDO IPPO for Southern China's missions is to achieve investment matchmaking between international investors and local projects' owners. Therefore, we are building a database of local investment projects in conformity with UNIDO standards.
These projects are mainly located in South West China, which covers one municipality (Chongqing) and eight provinces (Guangxi, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi andFujian).
Industry fields of each project:
Currently, there are around 200 investment projects' information in this database. They cover almost all major industrial fields, including tourist, pharmaceutical and environmental industries.
Necessary information about each project:
Necessary information in this database is divided into 3 types:
- Basic information concerning the project: name and location, background information, owner's name, company name and data, activity, main characteristics of the future products, name of sponsors (if not confidential), and other general data.
- Cooperation specification: estimated investment amount, type of cooperation sought (JV, cooperative production, access to market only...), necessary technology or technical know-how transfers.
- Project's assessment: general distribution of the costs, expected costs of raw material and machines, structure of the capital, production capacity, product's past demand, legislation information regarding the product, possible obstacles...
Main functions of the investment projects' database:
- The registration and updating of projects' information based on different sources (government, newspapers, project owners' survey...)
- The classification of these investment projects according to a set of given nomenclatures such as the sector and size of investment, the financial conditions and the project description.
- The possibility to provide detailed investment projects to investors according to their specific requests.
- Matchmaking process facilitation between investors and local projects owners
- Follow up of each investment matchmaking with specific remarks
Assets of our investment projects' database:
Different from other investment projects' databases in China, this database is characterized by three important features:
- Quantity
In this database, you can find more investment projects with more detailed information from many Chinese provinces. Currently, there are 200 projects and this number will go up to 400 by the end of 2007.
- Quality
For each investment project, we make cautious selection, in depth investigation and complete assessment based on standard documents and strict procedure. All these measures guarantee that only reliable projects can enter into this database.
- Expertise
For the match making activities, we do not entirely rely on this digital database. We also have a team of project officers devoted to the investors. They are experts in various industrial sectors, and can provide you with expertise and technical assistance according to your specific needs. |
